Homeopathic hCG – Another Diet Scam

February 11, 2009

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Since I wrote the following post, someone has proven me wrong. Read about Homeotherapeutic HCG!

________________________________________

Let’s get something straight right off the bat:  There is no such thing as Homeopathic HCG – so if you are using it instead of REAL hCG on Dr. Simeons hCG Diet Protocol and are losing weight, it is because of the 500 calorie diet.

This means muscle is being lost, you are starving yourself, and will not enjoy permanent weight loss because your metabolic set point is not affected (you aren’t taking hCG!)

HCG is a HORMONE – so what the heck is homeopathic hCG?  I’ll tell you – snake oil.

Anyone can lose weight on a 500 calorie per day diet, but without real hCG you are losing muscle and structural fat.  You will end up in a yo yo diet cycle as your body makes adjustments for the reduced caloric intake by slowing its metabolism.  Your weight loss will  be short-lived, and you will put the weight back on with a vengeance.

Look: The hCG Diet works, but it works FOR A REASON, which is the effect that hCG has on your hypothalmus and other regulartory glands and systems (that, frankly, isn’t well understood).

Anyone selling Homeopathic hCG is a snake-oil salesman and if you are losing weight, or have lost weight with it congratulations, but don’t be surprised when you put all the weight back on.

Using real, natural hCG has the effect of burning ABNORMAL FAT while on the very low calorie diet and RESETTING YOUR METABOLISM when you finish Phase III of the diet protocol.

Do you think Homeopathic hCG works?  Sound off below…

  2. I used the Homeopathic HCG that you take sublingually. I was able to follow the 500 calorie diet without feeling hungry at all and sometimes having to force myself to eat. I have done several diets and many had me limit my calories and I noticed every calorie I put into my body and felt every bit I was missing.
I also have a good understanding of the placebo affect while working in psychology and have a great understanding of my muscle and fat mass having been in the military and an avid fitness buff for years.
So, this is my point. I lost 23 lbs in 23 days and have kept it off past the maintenence phase. I plan on doing another round to lose the final bit of baby weight. When I normally start a diet or working out like crazy I can tell when I’m just losing water weight etc. The areas where I carry most of my fat shrunk like crazy on the HCG.
Basically, I’m just having a hard time believing it’s all a scam and it was just a placebo affect. I was able to return to exercise and my muscle mass is well in tact and stronger than ever. I’m also not pleased with the program I got it through simply by how much they charged and how little extra they delivered other than providing the HCG. But, I’m still amazed by how well it has worked.
Please shed some light on this.

  3. Oh, I forgot. In the literature the program told me I could check the potency of my HCG in case I thought I got a bad batch by using a pregnancy test. I never needed to because it worked wonderfully, but why would they tell me to do that if it isn’t potent enough to test positive?

  4. I posted about this already – if you want to prove to yourself that you are metabolizing fat and not muscle, you simply test your urine with Ketostix and Albustix. Read this post: Proof Homeopathic HCG is a Scam

  5. OK, now this is laughable. Homeopathic HCG DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH HCG IN IT TO REGISTER ON A PREGNANCY TEST!!! You said you bough Homeopathic HCG and they including instructions in their literature to check the potency by testing with a pregnancy test? Either you didn’t buy Homeopathic HCG, or the people that sold it to you are full of it. Do some research on Homeopathy. You will find out that a 6x potency has the dilution equivalent to a drop of solution in a bathtub of water.

If there WAS any significant amount of HCG in your Homeopathic solution, THEY WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO SELL IT WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION!!!

I DARE YOU to test it with a pregnancy test. Maybe they should give you your money back if it tests negative?

Sorry, but it is just ridiculous for them to even suggest their homeopathic concoction will test positive for HCG. Test it and lets see the pictures or video.

  6. It is a little funny to test Homeopathic hCG due to the fact that the definition of Homeopathic is diluted medicines.

Homeopathis medicines are all diluted medicines, therefore it would be ridiculous to claim that a pregnancy test would test possitive for hCG.

The pregnancy test is dumb to begin with even with regular reconstituted hCG. Women create and secrete way more hCG than the amount found in injectable hCG.

  7. I am a healthcare provider who offers homeopathic HCG at my facility because it has proved itself among my patients. I feel it is much safer then Phentermine which is prescribed by numerous healthcare providers. My mom has hypothyroidism, HTN, and hyperlipidemia and has tried every diet out there just about. Her pharmacist who is a compound pharmacist told her about this HCG diet and he himself lost 30 lbs. in 40 days using the nasal spray. My mom begged me to research it for her. I purchased the HCG weight loss cure guide book and read every bit and put a program together that includes checking CBC, CMP, FLP, and TSH prior to my patients starting on it. I also mandate weekly support groups that my patients have to come to while on the program. They are weighed, measured, vital signs are assessed and then we discuss as a group what they are going thru and things to help them. I use the homeopathic HCG with cell salts for my patients due to it is the cheapest so I can keep the costs down for them and is the least invasive. I myself was very cautious of this program…but decided to let my mom try it out along with a few other patients that had asked me about it. I am pleased to say…my patient results have made me a HCG believer. My patients have lost anywhere from 15-25 lbs. and up to 36 inches in 40 days with minimal side effects (i.e. constipation, headache, dizziness) which are common in taking any medication. My mom is starting on her second round of HCG and has kept the weight off during the maintenance phase and in fact lost an additional pound. Sure…the arguement is that anyone can lose weight by only eating 500 calories. But usually after the first week…my patients are not hungry and have no decrease in energy which is what would happen if you just followed a 500 calorie diet without the HCG. Another interesting fact is that while on HCG the lipid levels do increase but then come back down which does reinforce about the increase of fat being burned while taking the HCG. I agree that it needs to be done under a healthcare providers supervision and that you have to commit to doing it correctly to see results.
