HCG Diet Pills

HCG isn't a pill you simply swallow two times per day before meals. HCG is a drug, a hormone produced by the placenta in pregnant women. You must have a prescription to obtain hCG and although it has been used in fertility clinics for years the FDA has not approved hCG for weight loss. It is injected and taking hCG diet pills orally wouldn't work, because the stomach acids and enzymes would render the hCG completely ineffective.

It is adhering to a very low calorie diet (VLCD) of 500 calories that is responsible for the weight loss. It is having daily injections of hCG that allows you to not have hunger pangs and to make "metabolically active" the abnormal body fat which results in inches lost. All the while preserving lean muscle tissue.

According to Dr. A.T.W. Simeons' protocol it isn't necessary to include any additional dietary aides such weight loss pills or appetite suppressants. Keeping in mind Dr. Simeons' "Pounds and Inches" was written a few decades ago, it is common to find weight loss clinics offering the hCG diet and dietary supplements together.

The hCG diet as recommended by Dr. Simeons requires only the hCG itself and following a VLCD of 500 calories. B-12 shots and various dietary aides are quite common and sold as a "package deal" so be sure check with your physician and or hCG clinic to learn the details of their program.

The research and testimonials began with Dr. Simeons and he didn't advocate any type of dietary aid or supplementation during the course of the hCG diet. Many clinics have different philosophies on how the hCG diet should be followed today.

It is important to actually get 500 calories in the body during the hCG diet and some feedback from those on diet pills in conjunction with the hCG diet often had trouble eating the required 500 calories.

Always seek hCG from a legal medical source which will require you to have a blood test and a prescription in order to purchase hCG. They should also answer any questions you may have regarding the hCG diet including whether or not dietary aides are right for you.

Once you complete the 47 or 64 day hCG diet and you feel like you need a little extra help in maintaining your weight consult your physician and or hCG provider. They should be able to provide information getting you set up on a multi-vitamin and possibly other supplementation or dietary aid.

Unfortunately, one cannot simply swallow hCG diet pills and magically lose weight. However, many hCG dieters have been successful in "re-setting" their eating habits and seldom have problems with over-eating or controlling their diet once they complete the protocol.
